From here you can watch surfers take on the world-renowned Kalk Bay Reef, spot seals basking in the sun, or catch sight of whales gliding through the sparkling Indian Ocean. WATERS EDGE
Tucked away on the lower level, Water’s Edge is an intimate and inviting space where the ocean is your backdrop. Built seamlessly into the sea wall, the deck flows right up to the tidal pool, giving you front-row seats to the rhythm of the waves.
Whether you’re soaking up the sun, sipping a cocktail, or catching up with friends, this waterside setting makes every moment unforgettable. It’s the perfect place to unwind, celebrate, and experience the ocean in a way that’s truly one-of-a-kind.
PAVILLION
Perched above the tidal pools, the Pavilion offers a relaxed yet elegant setting with sweeping panoramic views over False Bay. Its elevated position creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where guests can unwind in comfort while taking in the ever-changing beauty of the bay. OYSTER DECK

CABIN BAR
The Cabin Bar is a true Brass Bell institution — a spot that has welcomed generations of locals and travellers with its unmistakable character and charm. Often described as the South African answer to the iconic “Cheers” bar, it’s a place where stories are shared, laughter flows easily, and everyone feels at home.
Steeped in history yet brimming with life, the Cabin Bar remains one of the most beloved corners of the Brass Bell. Please note: seating is first-come, first-served, as reservations are not available — just the way it’s always been.
IL PORTO
Recently converted into a vibrant pub and lounge, Il Porto sits right on the sea wall with sweeping views of the ocean. The entire space is smoking-friendly, with dart boards, ice-cold pints, and a lively atmosphere that’s all about good times and easy company.
From chilled afternoons to energetic nights, Il Porto delivers the unfiltered pub experience — coastal, casual, and always buzzing.
THE BEACH DECKS
The Beach deck at Brass Bell offers our guests the very best in seaside fun. The deck, mostly enclosed, and raised under a stylish wooden awning, is nestled between the Kalk Bay Tidal Pool & a trendy sandy area. With a paddling pool for the under 10’s, this venue promises to be the definitive Summer Lovers’ choice!
