From our decks, you’ll watch surfers take on the legendary Kalk Bay Reef, seals weaving through the harbour, and — if you’re lucky — whales rolling through the Indian Ocean beyond. Fishing boats head out at sunrise and return to the harbour with the day’s catch, adding to the steady rhythm of harbour life and the simple, honest charm that makes Kalk Bay so special.
In summer, the Bell hums; sun on your skin, cold drinks in hand, music drifting through the air as the sky turns golden. In winter, the fireplaces roar, the red wine flows, and the sea crashes dramatically against the rocks outside.

PAVILLION
Perched above the tidal pools, the Pavilion offers a relaxed yet elegant setting with sweeping panoramic views over False Bay. OYSTER DECK

CABIN RESTURANT

CABIN BAR
The Cabin Bar is a true Brass Bell institution — a spot that has welcomed generations of locals and travellers with its unmistakable character and charm. Often described as the South African answer to the iconic “Cheers” bar, it’s a place where stories are shared, laughter flows easily, and everyone feels at home.
Steeped in history yet brimming with life, the Cabin Bar remains one of the most beloved corners of the Brass Bell. Please note: seating is first-come, first-served, as reservations are not available — just the way it’s always been.
TIPSY MERMAID
Recently converted into a vibrant pub and lounge, Il Porto sits right on the sea wall with sweeping views of the ocean. The entire space is smoking-friendly, with dart boards, ice-cold pints, and a lively atmosphere that’s all about good times and easy company.
From chilled afternoons to energetic nights, Il Porto delivers the unfiltered pub experience — coastal, casual, and always buzzing.
